Transgender & Gender Diverse Youth Resources

My Purple Umbrella serves as a community partner to support gender diverse youth and their families. Our focus is advocacy, outreach and education training, events, and organizational partnerships that serve and protect LGBTQ youth.

LGBTQ youth are the highest risk youth in our communities. A community is made up of more than just family. Schools, medical institutions, businesses, law enforcement and human service agencies, youth organizations and the foster care system are important partners for LGBTQ youth to not merely survive but thrive. Our goal is to build bridges within each of these pieces of the community. Human connection is the most powerful connector to understanding, safety and inclusion.

Safe, Inclusive Environments are a Basic Human Need
